Preparing for the Autumn Season
Preparing your body for the Autumn Season its a good investment for Winter. Cleansing the body of unwanted toxins will make your immune system stronger and it will help your fight against cold/flu and infections. Detoxification is a way of cleansing the body of unwanted substances via 3 main routes: the bowel, the urinary tract and the lungs.
These unwanted toxins are partly produced by the body itself as by-products of metabolism and partly are introduced with food and drinks. Thus, detoxification via the exit routes is of particular importance for good health. Many detox programmes on the market suggest big dietary changes and harsh cleansing regimes that do not ensure that the toxins do in actual fact leave the body. These programmes make you feel terrible and ill for no great benefit. All pain and no gain!!
Start by:
- Drink 1.5L of pure water a day
- Drink herbal teas too if you like (nettle, peppermint, chamomile, etc)
- Drink only 1 coffee a day if you can resist the temptation!
- Increase fruits and vegetables consumption
- Eat brown rice with all your main meals
- Cut out refined foods, take-aways, white flour, white sugar, fried food, alcohol, etc)
- Walk 10 minutes every day to get some fresh air
